BUILDER’S DEPOT, Cincinnati, OH – 1982 to Present
Received fast-track promotion to management role in two years, holding successful positions including: District Manager, District Supervisor, District Coordinator, Manager, and Assistant Manager.

District Manager: Maintained responsibility for operations, staffing and profitability of up to 22 locations. Provided a liaison between corporate and retail outlets. Visited stores monthly, ensuring appropriate policies, staffing, management and operations.


Human Resources: Worked closely with managers to resolve any problems, performed hiring, recruiting, reviewing and termination. Managed stores in absence of management. Staffed five stores lacking managers, hiring and relocating managers appropriately.
Store Reengineering: Spearheaded the total remodeling of one location in under six weeks, including procurement of fixturing, adherence to plan-o-grams, recruiting and supervising temporary staff, and ordering and merchandising inventory.



District Supervisor: Performed dual responsibility for overseeing six stores within district as well as managing operations for one hardware location.

Human Resources: Directed existing store managers, and recruited and interviewed new managers as necessary. Performed management reviews and training. Relocated store managers according to strengths, resulting in 11% growth in profitability. Assisted managers with staffing problems as needed.
Merchandising / Store Reengineering: Spearheaded a major reorganization for all district stores, managing successful relocation of store merchandise for stores ranging from 4000 to 9000 sq. ft. Recognized as only district out of ten to complete project within deadline.
New Store Openings: Coordinated the strategic planning, demographic research and inventory selection / layout for a new concept store.



Store Manager: Managed all areas of store operations for a 30,000 sq. ft. location with 25 personnel and an annual volume of $2.9 million. Oversaw all customer service, sales, inventory, payroll and profits. Successfully increased sales volume, maintained loyal commercial customers and received Management Award for store performance.

Human Resources: Hired personnel, scheduled work hours and duties, and conducted employee evaluations. Trained staff in all areas of service, company policies, merchandising, and inventory control.
Administration: Performed all reporting, daily deposits, ordering, management communications, and annual inventories.
Sales / Planning: Coordinated with builders and homeowners. Performed outside sales, providing blueprints and estimates.
